How much does a wedding cake cost?

Wedding cake prices will vary depending upon the type of design, labor, and delivery distance.  If you’d like more general pricing information,  A basic buttercream cake will start at $6.50 per slice.  A basic fondant covered cake will start at $8.00 a slice.  Our wedding cakes are priced per slice. This enables us to create a cake that suits your design and gives you the appropriate amount of cake for the number of guests you are hosting. Prices increase from there, depending on the intricacy of the design among other factors.

How far in advance should I order my cake?

Since we have limited availability and tend to fill our calendar quickly and far in advance, we encourage you to schedule your tasting and book your space as quickly as possible.  
Keep in mind weekends will fill fast in the high wedding season, that being, the months of May through November.
We do not book more than one year in advance.

How does a Cake Tasting work?

While we don’t offer traditional in-person tastings, we’re happy to schedule what we call a “home tasting.” This allows you to sample three cake flavors of your choice from the comfort of your own home. You’ll receive three individual cake tins (each serves two people), each filled with a buttercream-topped cake in your chosen flavor—and with a filling of your choice, if you'd like.

Yes!  Visit our Wedding Gallery page for pictures of some wedding cakes we’ve done.

Looking for some different designs? Don’t be afraid to ask for a design that’s “off-the-wall” or unique! We love adventuring outside the box.

Do you offer dessert tables?

Accepted Answer

You bet we do!  We love the idea of a large selection of sweets for your guests!  We make plenty of other delicious items that would contribute to a beautiful dessert table at your wedding.

Question 6

Do you offer vegan, gluten-free, or other alternative diet options?

We do offer a limited number of dietary alternatives on our current menu such as cake, cupcakes, and pie.

Those with severe allergies, please keep in mind that our kitchen is not a certified allergen-free kitchen. Our kitchen works with all products, and while we do our best to limit cross contamination, we cannot guarantee it.

Can you replicate a desired cake design?

We live in a Pinterest fueled world and we love it when our couples arrive with design ideas already in hand.  We are glad to replicate designs that appeal to you.  Please remember however, we are artists just like the talented bakers that created the image you’re bringing us.  Each artist is unique.  We will try our best to replicate it but anything we make will also have our personality in it as well so your finished product may not be an EXACT replica.

Do you make edible wedding favors?

Absolutely! Our most popular wedding favor is our custom French macaron. We offer these in traditional rounds to match your wedding colors and also in custom shapes and designs. We also box them for you and have them ready for you the day-of.

What recommendations can you give me to maximize my budget?

There are many ways to work within your budget when purchasing your wedding cake. These include smaller tiers, cupcakes, etc.  We will do our best to help you stay within your budget and still have the cake of your dreams.

What are your standard delivery fees? How far do you deliver?

Accepted Answer

Our delivery prices for weddings and large events is priced upon mileage to the venue as well as our time for travel.   These costs will be listed on your cake contract before final payment is taken.

We typically deliver up to an 60 mile radius of Winchester, VA.

Question 11

Do you offer “fake” styrofoam cake tiers or “kitchen cakes”?

Accepted Answer

We can offer both of these. However, serving “sheet cakes in the back” is not a significant cost saver as the myth would lead to believe. Often these are priced the same as our standard cake prices because of the nature of our bakery and the way we cost our cakes.  The same applies to a "fake" tier.  The styrofoam must still be purchased and decorated to look like your cake.

Do you decorate cake/dessert tables?

We do offer to plate the cake and desserts on your designated cake table at your venue; this is included in your wedding setup fee. All accessories need to be assembled or provided by the time we arrive. We would be glad to discuss options and procedure with you regarding cake table arrangements in your wedding consultation.

Do you provide cake accessory rentals?

Accepted Answer

We do not provide dessert table platters or other tiered dessert display stands. However, we can help guide you with recommendations on what kind and how many display items you need based on your order.

What if I want to keep the top tier of my cake for my first wedding anniversary?

Accepted Answer

We have a few options for anniversary tiers.

We would be happy to add an additional small tier on the top tier of your wedding cake that can be saved for this purpose. We can also provide storage instructions for you or the caterer if requested.

Or in place of this,  we can provide a small 4 inch cake that is made at the same time as your wedding cake that is already wrapped, boxed, and ready to freeze for your one year anniversary celebration. We find couples like this option better as it alleviates the need for catering staff to save and properly wrap your anniversary tier. This makes for optimal results in transportation back to your freezer.

Do you make groom’s cakes?

Of course we do! We can deliver this the day-of the wedding or prior for a rehearsal dinner.
