Welcome!

 My name is Shanna Avila. I’m the chef and owner of Crumbs and Crumbles, a custom bakery specializing in creative French macaron, unique custom cakes, and other enticing desserts.

            My aim is simple: To create delicious pastries for you.

            I received my culinary education from Le Cordon Bleu and have worked in numerous fine dining establishments including Georgetown’s 1789, the Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown WV, and eM in Winchester VA. Crumbs and Crumbles is the product of my professional experience and practical necessity as a mother and wife. Because my faith influences my work ethic, flavor, beauty and excellence are my standard for every creation, whether for family occasions or grand events.

            This is where most people would share their inspiration, therefore I credit my brother for my launch into culinary arts. The day he spit in my fudge sent me on a trajectory toward keeping sweets pure and holy, but I digress…

            I also wish to thank my founding partner, Dakota Carden, for her friendship and artistry and for being a part of something that has grown into such a success. You are greatly missed in this kitchen and there is always a place for you dear friend.
